Meet Catherine!

Catherine Hardy
CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety Instructor
Catherine has been with First Response since February of 2016. She teaches CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety Courses primarily in the Augusta area and in the online format.
“I love knowing that the information we teach will help so many people. Knowing that those in our classes are better prepared when we leave them is a wonderful feeling. I think everyone should have a base knowledge of life-saving skills and first aid and being part of sharing that knowledge in such a fun, interactive environment makes it even better!
Years ago, before becoming an instructor, I was at dinner with a friend when she began having an allergic reaction. She is deathly allergic to shellfish and, since we’d been friends since kindergarten, her mom trained me to use the Epi-Pen just in case. Thankfully I did not have to use the Epi-Pen that night (she administered it herself) and then her fiancée rushed her to the hospital. Even though I did not have to administer the life-saving medication, that night was the first time I truly realized the importance of emergency training and how quickly and unexpectedly life or death situations can arise.” – Catherine
Catherine loves watching sports, reading mystery and thriller novels, spending time with her family and her dog, and doing anything outside. Her favorite activities include walking on the canal with her dog, eating good food, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
