Classes for Senior Care Professionals
Seniors have unique needs, so First Response has tailored our CPR, First Aid & Fire Safety classes specificially for those who care for them. Our first aid class includes topics like dementia and hip fractures. Our fire safety class takes in consideration the unique challenges associated with evacuating those with diverse mental and physical capabilities.
For those that work with individuals with special needs, CPR, AED & First Aid for Direct Support Professionals meets the requirements for DBHDD.
At First Response, we believe people learn best when they are relaxed. Our engaging instructors strive to make the class informative and relevant for each unique audience. Practice makes perfect, so we have lots of manikins available to make sure everyone has adequate practice time to feel confident with the skills learned.
In our Fire Safety class for Senior Care Providers, you will learn how to prevent fires and respond appropriately in an emergency. You will learn about Fire Prevention, Fire Safety equipment, Evacuation plans, and more. Everything is tailored for a senior care facility.
Our training meets the requirements for assisted living, personal care, home health care and adult day care in Georgia and South Carolina.

How to Get CPR Certified

Onsite training
We come to your Senior Care Community and train your staff at your convenience.
In metro Atlanta or Augusta, we do ask for a minimum of 8 during the week and 12 on Saturday. For other areas view our minimum page to learn more.
Participants earn a 2 year CPR & First Aid certification.
$25 a person

Blended Online Training (Part 1 of 2)
Due to Covid, many Communities are opting to do our blended online training for added safety. This also works great if you do not have enough for the minimum.
- Classes are done online in a Live Zoom Training with an Instructor.
- After completing the online class they will receive a 45-day certificate until participants complete a hands-on skills check.
- The hands-on portion is done in small groups and takes about 15 minutes per group.
- Participants earn a 2 year CPR & First Aid certification after skills check.
$25 a person. No minimum is required.

Skills Checks (Part 2 of 2)
After completing your online training, you will need to do an in-person CPR skills check. We have locations across Georgia and South Carolina.
This is usually done outside in small, socially distanced groups.
If you would like to host an on-site skills check, there is a $50 fee (total); this is waived if you have 6 or more people. You can request one here.
How to Get Fire Safety Certified

Onsite training

Participants earn a 3 year Fire Safety Certification. Course meets the Fire Safety requirements for child care and elder care professionals in Georgia. It is approved by the Georgia State fire marshal’s office.

Online Training
Due to Covid, many offices are opting to do online training. This also works great if you do not have enough for the minimum.
- Classes are done online in a Live Zoom Training with an Instructor.
- They will complete an online test to show their knowledge.
- Will be sent certificate and places in the state system.
- This is an instructor-led Fire Safety course that is held via Zoom.
Course meets the Fire Safety requirements for child care and elder care professionals in Georgia. It is approved by the Georgia State fire marshal’s office.
Just like a traditional class, participants can interact with their instructor and ask questions. the instructor can tailor the class to the specific needs of the participants.
This class takes approximately 3 hours.
$25 a person. No minimum is required.
