Online Training Options
Blended Online BLS Training – $40 per person
Blended training offers the convenience of completing coursework at home, on your own schedule, so you can make the most of your time in the office with patients. This flexible format lets participants progress through the online materials at their own pace, followed by a brief in-person skills check where they demonstrate their knowledge using manikins. More on what to expect from a skills check below.
Please be aware that you are invoiced for the self-paced training at the time of registration and there are no refunds.
What to Expect from Online BLS Training
- The self-paced online course includes 29 modules and takes approximately 4-5 hours to complete. Once activated, it can be accessed anytime and you can start and stop as needed.
- The in-person skills check takes about 15-20 minutes per group, ensuring minimal disruption to your patient schedule.
What is a Skills Check?
For blended online BLS Training, you must also have hands on practice. This in-person portion is called a skills check. This is done after completing your online training. Watch the video to see what these look like.

Dentistry for Children and Dental Town Training FAQs
I Registered for the Self-Paced Training, but Changed My Mind. Can I Get a Refund?
You are invoiced at the time of registration for the self-paced training and there are no refunds. If you have not clicked the link or started the class, the course can be transferred to another person in your school.
When Do I Get My Card?
Cards are issued after the course is complete and when payment is received. Payment normally takes about 30 days for D4C and Dental Town invoices. If you need your card faster, we accept payment by card, cash or check.
What if I Want to Host a Class at My Office, but I Don’t Have 6 People?
Reach out to other offices in your area. Odds are that others may have people that would like to join you. If you have less than 6 people, the minimum charge for an on-site class is $240.
What if I Need to Reschedule My Skills Check?
You can reschedule at here. If an individual misses a skills check without notification, there is a charge of $5 per person to reschedule.
If I Haven’t Completed My Online Course, Can I Still Complete the Skills Check?
We highly recommend completing the online course before attending your skills check. However, if you haven’t finished it, you may still complete the skills check while we are at your office. The online course must be completed within the same calendar month. For example, if you complete the skills check on January 15, you must finish the online course by January 31; otherwise, you will need to repeat the skills check.
How Long is the Certification Valid For?
BLS certification is valid for 2 years.
I Am Looking for Cards for My Staff. Where Can I Find Them?
Each office has a shared folder with the cards for their staff. The link has been provided to the office manager. If you don’t know the link for your office, please contact us and we can pass it along. Please be aware the D4C firewall often blocks the shared folder. If this happens, you should be able to access it from your personal device.
What if My Team Member Took a Class Somewhere Else or Their Card Is Not in the Shared Folder?
Please request a copy at on our lost certificates page.
What is BLS?
Basic Life Support (BLS) is emergency medical care provided by first responders, healthcare providers, and public safety professionals to persons experiencing respiratory or cardiac arrest. BLS is for licensed healthcare professionals; it meets the requirements for dental professionals under the Georgia Board of Dentistry licensing requirements.
BLS includes Adult/Child/Infant CPR, use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and techniques to relieve airway obstruction in patients of every age. Since licensed health care professionals are already educated on how to respond in first aid situations, it does NOT include first aid.
Is Online BLS Training Okay?
In short, the answer is “Yes, blended training meets the requirements for those in Georgia”, but there are a few things to note. To meet the requirements for most jobs, it must be a blended training. Blended training means that there is an online instruction potion AND a hands on portion with an instructor. The online portion can be either at your own pace or live via a web conferencing software like Zoom.
Can You Do a Class After Hours?
Yes, we offer training during the work day, evenings and on Saturday.
How Do I Register for an Open Skills Check?
You can register by visiting our skills check page here.
Can I Reschedule My Training Session?
Yes, please reschedule using the confirmation email we send you or contact us in advance to reschedule your session.
How Far in Advance Can I Schedule?
You can schedule at any time! However, please note that back-to-school season and popular in-service days tend to fill up quickly. To secure your preferred dates, we recommend booking as early as possible.
What is AED Training?
AED training is a portion of our training that focuses on teaching you about AEDs, both in theory and in practice. You will learn about AEDs, then watch our team demonstrate, and then get hands on practice with an AED trainer. You will be able to ask questions, so you can be fully confident you know how to use an AED if the situation were to arise.
Our AED courses are done in conjunction with BLS training, which will help you be prepared for most emergencies you may face. The AED training is just one part of the training.
