This flexible format lets participants progress through the online materials at their own pace, followed by a brief in-person skills check where they demonstrate their knowledge using manikins.
Please be aware that you are invoiced for the self-paced training at the time of registration and there are no refunds.
- The self-paced online course includes 57 modules and takes approximately 4-5 hours to complete. Once activated, it can be accessed anytime and you can start and stop as needed.
- The in-person skills check takes about 15 minutes per group.
What is a Skills Check?
For blended online CPR, you must also have hands on practice. This in-person portion is called a skills check. This is done after completing your online training. Watch the video to see what these look like.
You Have Several Options for Your In-Person Skills Checks:
- Group Session at Your School: If you have a group of 6 or more, you can host a skills check at your school for no charge. If you have less than 6, there is a $75 charge for an on-site skills check.
- Attend a session at a nearby NDO School: You can register for another NDO skills check at here.
- Attend an Open Skills Check: We offer skills checks at other locations across the state. There is no charge to attend one of these sessions. You can register for one of these locations here.
- If none of these options work for you, please contact us. We may be able to accommodate an on-site skills check for a smaller group if we will already be in your area.
Online Fire Safety Training – $25 per person
Our Fire Safety Training available online via Zoom, offering a convenient and interactive way for your staff to meet their training requirements. This meets the same requirements of the state without an in person skills check component.
This engaging class provides a flexible alternative that can be tailored to fit your team’s schedule. We typically offer 2-3 sessions per week, ensuring you have multiple options to choose from.
If you don’t see a session that works for your schedule, please contact us, and we’d be happy to add an extra session to accommodate your needs.

Ninth District Opportunity Training FAQs
I Registered for the Self-Paced Training, but Changed My Mind. Can I Get a Refund?
You are invoiced at the time of registration for the self-paced training and there are no refunds. If you have not clicked the link or started the class, the course can be transferred to another person in your school.
When Do I Get My Card?
Cards are issued after the course is complete and when payment is received. Payment normally takes about 30 days for NDO invoices.
What if I Want to Host a Class at My School, but I Don’t Have Enough People?
Reach out to other NDO schools in your area. Odds are that others may have people that would like to join you. If you’re willing to open it to non-NDO staff, please let us know and we can post it on our website.
What if I Need to Reschedule My Skills Check?
You can reschedule at here. If an individual misses a skills check without notification, there is a charge of $5 per person to reschedule.
If I Haven’t Completed My Online Course, Can I Still Complete the Skills Check?
We highly recommend completing the online course before attending your skills check. However, if you haven’t finished it, you may still complete the skills check while we are at your school. For example, if you complete the skills check on January 15, you must finish the online course by January 31; otherwise, you will need to repeat the skills check.
How Long is the Certification Valid For?
CPR/AED/First Aid certification is good for 2 years; Fire Safety certification is good for 3 years.
Can You Do a Class After Hours?

I Am Looking for Cards for My Staff. Where Can I Find Them?
Each school has a shared folder with the cards and fire safety certificates for their staff. The link has been provided to the center manager. If you don’t know the link for your school, please contact us and we can pass it along. Please be aware the NDO firewall sometimes blocks the shared folder. If this happens, you should be able to access it from your personal device.
What if My Team Member Took a Class Somewhere Else or Their Card Is Not in the Shared Folder?
Please request a copy at on our lost certificates page.
How Far in Advance Can I Schedule?
You can schedule at any time! However, please note that back-to-school season and popular in-service days tend to fill up quickly. To secure your preferred dates, we recommend booking as early as possible.
Is Online CPR and First Aid Training Okay?
In short, the answer is “Yes, blended training meets the requirements for those in Georgia”, but there are a few things to note. To meet the requirements for most jobs, including childcare and elder care professionals, it must be a blended training. Blended training means that there is an online instruction potion AND a hands on portion with an instructor. The online portion can be either at your own pace or live via a web conferencing software like Zoom.
What is CPR and First Aid Training Like?
It is a 2 1/2 to 3 hour course where you will learn how to perform CPR, respond for choking, and respond to many first aid emergencies. You will get hands-on experience with CPR and choking maneuvers to make sure you feel confident with the skills taught.
All our training sessions are fun and interactive, helping participants learn and have fun doing it.
What is Fire Safety Training Like?
It is a 2 1/2 to 3 hour course where you will learn how to prevent fire and respond if they do happen both in your facility and in your home. We also teach you ways to educate your students, children, parents, and/or residents on fire safety principles.
All of our trainings are fun and interactive, helping participants learn and have fun doing it.
What is AED Training?
AED training is a portion of our training that focuses on teaching you about AEDs, both in theory and in practice. You will learn about AEDs, then watch our team demonstrate, and then get hands on practice with an AED trainer. You will be able to ask questions, so you can be fully confident you know how to use an AED if the situation were to arise.
Our AED courses are done in conjunction with CPR and First Aid training, which will help you be prepared for most emergencies you may face. The AED training is just one of the 3 parts.
